When I wrote my first book, Operation Werwolf, I waited with mixed feelings for the first review. Lady-luck was on my side and my first review was a good one. Since then I’ve had both good and bad reviews on all my books. You can’t please all the people all the time.
So when the first review came in for our holiday apartment rental in Kouklia, Cyprus, I was prepared for anything. So far we have received two reviews out of a handful of bookings. Booking.com assesses us on six criteria. Cleanliness, Location, Facilities, Comfort, Value for Money and Staff. The reviewer gives us a score between 1 and 10, bad to excellent. Our average is as follows:-
Value for money 10
But on the last one, staff, we get this – Staff 7.5
Would someone like to explain to me how you can reach an average score of 7.5 on staff when there are no staff. It’s a self-catering apartment. We have an excellent cleaner and odd-job man, but none of our guests will have met them. We don’t do meet and greet so we have never met our guests either.
I can see this is going to be an ongoing mystery.
