I’ve had about 8 hours sleep now, in the last 48 hours, must admit the editing took a lot out of me, especially with the really hot and muggy weather we have been experiencing. Now though the first level of editing is completed and I’m onto my beta read through, which in fact is draft 4, but who’s counting.
First thing I notice, I have to update my dedication. I decided that because a lot of the writing and re-writing took place during the coronavirus pandemic, I should make the dedication to all frontline workers, across the globe. So, how does the following sound?
To all medics and health workers in the world as well as the police, fire, rescue, ambulance, civil authorities, frontline workers and public facing workers who have worked at the frontline and facing the public during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.
This book is dedicated to you.
I hope it doesn’t sound too gushy or cheesy, because it’s from the bottom of my heart as one of my step-daughters has been working in a children’s A&E dept during the height of the lockdown in the UK. They are all heroes who deserve the public’s recognition. This is just my way of showing my appreciation.
